Mooroopna Primary celebrates Book Week

Traditional book characters were still a firm favourite among children, as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, the Hungry Caterpillar, Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf were spotted during the parade.

Although it was difficult to recognise some of the students under their costumes, parents and friends came to the school to watch the parade.

The children also had the chance to cheer on their teachers, as staff took part in the dress-up day.

Throughout the day, students took part in a range of activities to celebrate their love of reading.

Book Week is being celebrated across Australia this week and is designed to encourage children to read books.
