Mr Willoughby, who is effectively second in charge at the facility and will work closely with CEO Ben Levesque, is based in Wangaratta with his wife Sheree and their four high school aged children.
With a range of experience in the industry, Mr Willoughby said the decision to travel Finley for work was easy because of the environment the local service provides for both staff and residents.
‘‘I originally came across the job by word of mouth, and when I came into the centre I could tell it was a really good fit for me.
‘‘I have really enjoyed it since starting here; the residents, staff and the board have been really welcoming.
‘‘I want to do the best I can do to help deliver the ideas that Ben has, and to continue setting a good example that has made this centre a lead provider of care in the region.
‘‘On a day-to-day basis I'm currently working throughout the centre, ensuring it meets standards operationally and I also work closely with staff to ensure the standards of our centre continue to grow.
‘‘I’ve worked in age care for the last 10 years in different management positions, and really enjoy it. Most of my time has been with Benalla Health.’’
Mr Levesque said he is happy to have Mr Willoughby on board, and is confident he can add a lot to the organisation.
‘‘We’re really happy to have Nathan on board. He has proven himself to handle different challenges and we’re excited for this opportunity to work with him,’’ he said.
‘‘It will allow us to move forward with projects we have, and to maintain the high quality of work we do here.
‘‘Nathan’s experiences and skills complement the role he’s stepping into.’’
