With in-studio segments, behind-the-scenes stories, interviews and deep-dive field reports from locations across Australia, Art Works is putting the spotlight on the often overlooked creativity in our everyday lives.
From the garden to the gallery, the program spans emerging creatives, established professionals, major art companies and the delightfully avant garde.
Ms Benson said the program would deliver "candid, surprising, unexpected and funny insights from a whole range of creatives".
“It’s a place where stories, experiences and ideas will be shared and exchanged — where we can engage, debate, critique or just observe. And that’s the beauty of art, it’s for everybody.”
An expert on race, culture, gender and identity, Ms Benson is shining a spotlight on the diversity of the arts scene and its previously unheard voices.
Art Works is filling a hole in the national conversation.
The program continues on the ABC on Wednesday, May 19 at 8.30 pm.
