Anyone interested in dipping their toes into the magical world of theatre can find out more at a Shepparton Theatre Arts Group information night tomorrow.
Next year's Shepparton Festival will once again present the popular format of 10 in Ten which sees 10 10-minute plays performed and directed by first-time actors and directors.
Program co-ordinator and STAG member Nicky Pummeroy said the group was looking for interested directors, performers and stage crew to take part in the season to be staged at the group's Bakehouse Black Box Theatre in March.
Ms Pummeroy said the 10 in Ten play festival had been part of the Shepparton Festival since 2008 and presented the perfect opportunity for aspiring theatre enthusiasts to get involved.
“It's a chance for people to further their skills on stage in an intimate setting. We have mentors for first-time actors, and others who can work with people to help in whatever area they are interested in,” she said.
“It's a great platform to start in theatre plays are only 10 minutes long and this year there are some terrific subjects from playwrights.”
The 10 plays selected for 2020 include several by local writers including John Head, Cindy Doherty, Cindy Abbey and Neroli Cochrane.
Themes include amnesia, role-reversal, crooked financial advisers, friendship, unfinished business and the repercussions of IVF technology.
Tomorrow's information night starts at 7 pm at The Bakehouse, 17 Wheeler St, Shepparton.
Interested people will be provided with a brief synopsis and cast information for each play.
