Rosewood Music Camp, Lima East 

Rosewood Music Camp is three fabulous days of music-making and dancing in Taungurung Country at the Charnwood Outdoor Education Centre.

Unpowered camping and rustic shared bunkhouse accommodation is available to campers, along with on-site catering options — so you can concentrate on music-making and dancing.

All you need to bring (in addition to your camping gear) is a love of music and dance, an interest to learn and the energy to have a good time. All levels of experience are catered for.

The camp provides a varied program of workshops for musicians, both beginners and experienced, dancing, bushwalking, arts and craft, and yoga for children and adults alike.

Everyone has the opportunity to get up on stage and perform in the grand finale concert on the Sunday evening. September 27 to 30.

Benalla Migrant Camp open day

Journey into the lives of migrants by looking at this unique exhibition of photos and artefacts telling of life at the Benalla Migrant Camp from 1949 to 1967. Sunday, September 29, 10am to 3pm. Hut 11, Benalla Airport, Samaria Rd.

Benalla Aquatic Centre

Enjoy a swim in one of the centre's great pools in the school holidays. Open throughout the holidays.

Monday and Tuesday: 6am to 8pm.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 6am to 7pm.

Saturday and Sunday: 9am to 4pm.

Under 10s must be supervised by an adult. Under 5s must have an adult in the water with them within an arm's length .$5.20 per child. Under 5s and a parent are only charged as one child.

Mansfield Zoo

Have fun meeting the animals at Mansfield Zoo – or even camp overnight if you dare.

The Zoo Keeper feeding tour is a favourite of visitors. Watch four lions being fed at 1.30pm, followed by feeding of the Meerkat Mob throughout the school holidays.

The North East Silo Trail: Goorambat – Devenish – St James

Take the kids on a leisurely drive to three of Victoria’s most impressive pieces of silo art.

Goorambat has three silos featuring local Clydesdale horses, a native owl and a country scene by DVate.

Devenish features an homage to our service men and women with three silo murals of a modern combat medic, a World War I-era army nurse and a light horseman by Cam Scale.

St James has an impressive five-silo display by Benalla artist Tim Bowtell. It tells the story of the town's history, specifically as the birthplace of Coles founder Sir George James “GJ” Coles.

Stop for lunch at one of the three towns' historic hotels and pick up some souvenirs.
