Strathmerton Primary learn about Aboriginal culture with a visit from ASHEBy James Bennett
Strathmerton Primary School students recently broadened their learning on Aboriginal culture thanks to a visit from the Academy of Sport, Health and Education.
Sixteen Koori VCAL students performed activities in the cultural immersion program including Aboriginal art, storytelling, games and face painting.
“It was great for our children to be introduced to Koori culture in such a fun and engaging way and the ASHE students are to be congratulated on the confident and enthusiastic manner in which they delivered the activities,” Strathmerton Primary School principal Geoff Weppner said.
ASHE teacher and organiser Jacinta Trianidis added: "I was so impressed how the kids responded and got involved in the activities.”
The day finished with the school captain and vice-captain Lilly Graham and Ella Wood thanking the academy for the day.
