It's the opinion of his St Kilda coach after the young spinner single-handedly bowled his club to victory in Victorian Premier Cricket on Saturday.
Playing in his first game for St Kilda since returning from the ICC Under 19 World Cup, Murphy was near unplayable, taking 6/12 from 9.5 overs against Kingston Hawthorn.
The competition's bottom side were unable to do anything against the young spinner, as their side was skittled for just 85 runs.
It was Murphy's first five-wicket haul of the season, and his career-best figures for the club.
St Kilda easily claimed victory, needing just 19 overs to get the win.
After the match, St Kilda coach Glenn Lalor spoke glowingly to media of Murphy's performance.
“(Murphy) was a class above,’’ he said.
“They just couldn’t hit him. The wicket was turning, but not sideways or anything like that. A couple popped. He made them look silly, to be honest.’’
“There’s a baggy blue cap waiting for him shortly. Sooner rather than later.’’
Murphy has now taken 23 wickets at an incredible average of 16.8 in his nine matches this season, as well as a handy batting average of 32.
St Kilda currently sits in fourth place on the competition's ladder with one round to play before finals.
