As a first year coach, Joyce didn't know what to expect when she arrived at the team's first training session during pre-season.
But from there, the young Blues have continued to grow cementing themselves as the best Murray Netball League side in their division on route to a grand final against Finley on Saturday.
Tonny will enter the game having lost just one game - against the Cats in round 16 by one goal - and know the pressure will be on them to get the job done.
"We know it's not going to be an easy game to win," Joyce said.
"All of the girls are just thrilled to be there because it's where every team wants to be.
"I think winning the preliminary final against Deniliquin by one goal will be great for the girls confidence.
"At their age, the big focus is on their development and the grand final is going to be another great lesson for them."
While Joyce is determined to finish the season with a premiership, she said she would be proud of her players no matter the result.
"I don't think my job could have been any easier, they've been a great group of girls to work with," she said.
"Being able to see them develop is one of the best parts about my role.
Sometimes as a coach you take more satisfaction from seeing someone score their first goal than you do winning a game."
Joyce would like to thank assistant coach Sally Morrison for her support this year.
