Council wants to hear your thoughts on the kiosk

CAMPASPE Shire Council wants to hear your thoughts on the future of the Riverboat dock kiosk.

The proposed café is yet to have a tenant, with council saying in May that an expression of interest for the tenancy would happen when the pandemic had “settled and restrictions lifted”.

Council is now calling for ideas from the community for the potential future use of the vacant riverfront property located at 14 Watson St, Echuca to assist in the development of the EOI process.

Council’s preference is for a food and beverage operation, but it is open to ideas for possible alternative use for the property.

The Riverboat Dock redevelopment was set to be completed by the end of 2019; however, it was opened to public access in May this year, with minor works including garden maintenance and a coat of paint on the kiosk to be completed.

Anyone may make a submission in writing about their thoughts on the future of the kiosk by August 12.

Submissions should be addressed to the chief executive and can be hand delivered to the Echuca Civic Centre, 2 Heygarth St, emailed to [email protected] or mailed to the chief executive, Campaspe Shire Council, PO Box 35, Echuca, 3564.
