From working to school to even just relaxing, we're always using it.
But primary and secondary students from Moama Anglican Grammar put their minds to the test on a whole new level as they took part in the Tournament of the Mind recently.
Two teams made the journey to Wagga Wagga to compete in the tournament which required them to work as a team and test out their performance skills in front of a panel of judges.
"We were part of the language literature primary team and we had to create a new language feature," Moama Anglican Grammar student Jordan Dalziel said.
"We made a play about how we were on a plane that crashed and we needed to create a code to get off the island."
"I was given the role of alliteration and it was great fun because I got to rhyme my words," Grade 5 student Hayden Taylor said.
The secondary students were given a similar task.
"Our team had to discuss how to make a new language to use to talk to the government about how passionate we are about climate change," Year 10 student Meg Kennedy-Ripon said.
"It was such a rewarding feeling to actually do it and talk to the judges afterwards. We were able to explain to them what we overcame and what we did to get to that point.
"And then for us to come in at first place was just so rewarding."
Both teams will now make their way to Sydney for the next stage of the competition in the coming weeks.
