If the club is successful in obtaining the grant, the project will be able to complete the plans the club has been discussing for a number of years.
‘‘This project has been in motion for a few years and we’ve just been trying to find a time to get the ball rolling,’’ Moama Cricket Club president Kirk Teasdale said.
‘‘With the new $4 million pavilion going up down the track, this fence will top it off beautifully. Plus it’s that historic cricket ground look that we want to have at our grounds as well.’’
The 240-metre fence will ensure the security and safety of both spectators and participants as well as providing a fresh welcoming look at the recreation reserve .
‘‘Our hub and precinct is looking a bit outdated at the moment so having a new building and hopefully the new fence will be great,’’ he said.
‘‘It will hopefully be a big attraction for the community.’’
By ranking the project in their top three preferences, people in NSW can help the cricket club get the funding it needs.
