More than 120 children and families packed into The Shed in Simmie St to hear about this year’s junior shows — The Jungle Book Kids and Back to the 80s.
Company secretary and Jungle Book director Lesley Summers said she was extremely pleased by the turnout.
‘‘It was indeed a very full shed,’’ she said.
‘‘It was great to see so many new faces and also the excitement of the kids who have been in previous shows catching up with each other.’’
Lesley said 44 children booked an audition for The Jungle Book, while 58 bookings were made for Back to the 80s.
‘‘I am looking forward to seeing how much talent shows up at auditions and expect there will be some hard decision making as we do only need 26-27 cast members,’’ she said.
Back to the 80s directors Mark Thomson and Zali McKee said they were both excited to start working with the cast and production team to bring the 80s back to Echuca.
‘‘We are extremely happy with the response and it was great to see so many people attend, including quite a few new faces,’’ Mark said.
‘‘We have a pool of talent ready to start the journey of a new and exciting production for 2019.’’
Both shows open on November 8, but The Jungle Book will only do four performances on the first weekend and Back to the 80s will perform eight shows over two weekends.
