The Deniliquin Golf Club will host a charity golf day on Sunday, October 4 with all proceeds going directly to the Navorina Nursing Home.
It is the first event from the auxiliary this year, with other planned activities cancelled due to COVID-19 rules. It is also the first golf club charity day since the start of COVID.
Teams of four have the chance to claim $100 each for first place, with $50 each for the runners-up in the ambrose event thanks to kind donations by local businesses.
Auxiliary president Shirley Willis said you don’t have to be a great golfer to take part in the day.
‘‘We just want everyone to come along and have a great day with their friends, whether you take it seriously or not,’’ she said.
‘‘The proceeds from the event help our residents stay as comfortable as we can make them.’’
Golfers will enjoy a sausage sizzle lunch on the greens.
A raffle will also be drawn at the end of the day with various prizes up for grabs. Tickets are $1 and can be purchased throughout the day.
There will also be nearest the pin on all par three holes with prizes of golf balls and wine donated by the golf club.
The cost to take part in the fundraiser is $25 per person, which includes lunch.
To enter, visit the Our Golf online booking site, Deniliquin Golf Club pro shop or phone 5881 3333. Players are asked to gather at 11.30am for a noon shotgun start.
