The team has been shortlisted in the Best Achievement in Marketing, Communication or Sponsorship category.
General manager Vicky Lowry said it was recognition of some ‘‘outstanding work’’ from the team.
‘‘It is exciting and a great honour to be recognised for all the hard work put in by everyone involved within our organisation to be a national finalist in the category,’’ she said.
‘‘The category specifically recognises the innovative use of marketing, public communication and partnership with corporate sponsors to benefit an event.’’
The Deni Ute Muster won one of hundreds of nominees for the award, and was elevated to finalist by a panel of event industry leaders and experts from around Australia.
Judging panel co chair Peter Rix said entries are judged on all aspects of the achievement including innovation, best practice and sustainability as well as the achievement’s contribution to events and the difficulties encountered in executing it.
‘‘In these difficult and challenging times, the standard of this year’s entries to the Australian Event Awards has been spectacular,’’ he said.
‘‘The industry, once again, proves both its resilience and the quality of its work. In every category the entries were exceptional and choosing finalists was no easy feat.’’Australian Event Award Winners will be announced in October.
