General manager Adam McSwain said geological testing to assess the ability to go underground will be conducted between 7am on April 6 and 5.30pm on April 9.
‘‘We are currently looking to see if we can move powerlines between Napier and Edwardes St along Cressy St, underground, as part of the Cressy streetscape project,’’ he said.
‘‘As a part of this, we need to do some additional geological testing and investigating which means there will be some speed reductions in place for the contractors’ safety.
‘‘The road will remain open but we ask drivers to take care when travelling through this area between April 6 and April 9 when works are being conducted.’’
