Available to members of the Deniliquin community aged over 50, the University of the Third Age offers a variety of courses and activities.
Publicity officer Gayle Beckton said Deniliquin U3A supports the wellbeing of mature age persons, both physically and mentally, through the exploration of educational, cultural and physical programs.
‘‘Activities and courses include mahjong, a gardening group and discussion and walking groups,’’ Mrs Beckton said.
‘‘You could learn to speak Italian, or how to use iPhones and iPads, or simply come along and participate in the Scattegories game days.
‘‘All tutors bring a level of expertise and passion for the course that they are presenting.
‘‘We would also welcome more tutors if they have something they wish to share or teach.’’
Anyone interested in U3A, either as a student or a tutor, is invited to head along to the enrolment day on Wednesday, January 29.
It will be held at the Intereach Neighborhood Centre in Trickett St, Deniliquin from 11am and followed by a light lunch.
Annual membership is just $35, which allows you to attend as many classes as you prefer throughout the year.
For more information about courses, phone U3A on 0499 839 468. Prospective tutors are asked to call program and event coordinator Helen Burnham on 0400 110 749.
