Local painting and signage contractors have been prioritised to complete the works, which are expected to continue through to December.
The project, which is partly subsidised by Edward River Council, has been planned to minimise disruptions to businesses and their customers.
Mayor Norm Brennan said the work will focus specifically on Cressy and Napier Sts.
“The Painting and Signage Project was made available to shopfronts along Napier St and Cressy St, and is focused on cosmetic upgrades to enhance appearance,” Cr Brennan said.
“It will create a more welcoming and visually appealing CBD.
“Council believes a bright and welcoming CBD will encourage patronage, boost community pride and help increase economic support for local businesses during tougher periods.”
