Muscat Run rerouted for picturesque views

By Corowa Free Press

For this year, the 35th annual Muscat Run has been rerouted to covers roads and tracks with picturesque views of the local countryside, vineyards and the Murray River.

Participants in the run will pass through the Willows Reserve and Wahgunyah River Trails, in what Peter Walker of Rutherglen Rotary describes as a significantly different course from previous years.

“The classic 10km fun run has been substantially reorganised to include roads and tracks through some of the iconic scenery to be found in the Rutherglen area.  For people wanting a shorter distance, we have designed a 5km Run or Walk,” Mr Walker said.

“The events will start and finish at Cofield Wines.  This will provide an opportunity to meet the wine maker, enjoy food and drink options, as well as music and entertainment for children, all provided as part of the Cofield Wines Family Fun Day.”

The Rutherglen Rotary Muscat Run coincides with Australian Rotary Health’s national fundraising and awareness campaign for mental health research.  Approximately 1-in-5 Australians will experience a mental illness and in order to help future generations of young Australians, the money raised will assist research into how these illnesses can be better treated and prevented.

“Please get involved and help raise money to support Australian Rotary Health’s National annual fundraising day for mental health research,” Mr Walker said.

“For those entering the Muscat Run there is an option to make a direct donation to Australian Rotary Health.

“This will be a fun day for the whole family with prizes including bottles of local Rutherglen Muscat to be won and don’t forget there will also be special prizes for the best fancy dress!  So please come along, join us and enjoy the day”

The run will be conducted on Sunday the October 6 2019. You can register for the Event on the day from 8:30 am or skip the queues and register online. The Events start from 10:00 am.
