The charity reported in April it did not have enough food to meet demand and had not received any fruit or vegetables for five weeks from Foodbank Victoria.
Moira FoodShare co-ordinator Alan Petrie said the organisation has since received a big supply of food from Foodbank Victoria, including fruit, vegetables and frozen food.
“It's a win-win for everyone - we're in a much healthier position,” Mr Petrie said.
The organisation had also started up a Facebook page a couple of months ago, which Mr Petrie said had also gotten the word out and resulted in generous donations from local businesses.
This included a donation of 1000 eggs from Jessanda Farm Fresh in Yarroweyah.
Foodbank Victoria chief executive David McNamara said they were able to supply Moira FoodShare with food because supply chains were returning to normal after weeks of "panic buying" in supermarkets.
“This means we are able to source more food and distribute to organisations like Moira FoodShare in a capacity they are more familiar with,” he said.
But he said while supplies were more consistent, the problem was far from solved.
“The challenge that lies ahead is meeting the increasing food demands of these agencies as they report significant rises in the number of people calling upon their services.”
Mr Petrie encouraged members of the community who are struggling for food to contact Moira FoodShare on 0419 809 171 or through intermediary agencies.
