“If we can start the conversation about the simple actions we can all take, we can change the culture that allows inequality to occur,” Mayor Libro Mustica said.
The breakfast is on in the Cobram Civic Centre on November 28 at 7 am.
The event is a part of the Resilient Rural Women Forum series and will feature guest speaker Martine Harte from Engaging Women.
Ms Harte is a dedicated gender equality and diversity advocate who founded Engaging Women to elevate the voices of women through publishing, an all-women speaker’s offering and advisory services.
Cr Mustica said the breakfast was all about celebrating resilient rural women and recognising everyone has a role to play in building strong communities and workplaces that actively promote gender equality.
“Inequality is not inevitable; it is preventable,” he said.
“Talk to your families, schools, communities and workplaces.
“Together, our message will be amplified, and our voices heard.”
