And that's exactly what happened when a chance meeting at the Violet Town Café had former teammates John Ramage and Tom Royal standing next to one another, unaware of each other.
But once the re-introduction was made, both Ramage and Royal were transported back to their days playing at Violet Town in 1961.

Joined by fellow Violet Town locals Alan ‘Daffy’ Smith and Cheryl Crosbie (nee Shepherd), who also hadn't seen Royal since ‘62, the foursome ended up having lunch together, reminiscing on memories past.
People may know Royal as Violet Town's postie back in the early 60s, while Ramage is of course a premiership hero for Euroa and Violet Town.

The meeting culminated with Ramage presenting Royal with a Violet Town club shirt.
Ramage, Royal, Duffy and Crosbie had all been looking forward to Violet Town's 125th club anniversary last month, which was postponed due to coronavirus restrictions.
They are hopeful the reunion will be held later in the year.
