Benalla Breakers’ gun Lachy Kego has capped a stunning season in the CBL North East competition, taking out All-Star 5 honours for the first time.
In a further nod to Kego’s rise up the ranks of country basketball, the centre was also named runner-up best-and-fairest in the league.
Following Wallan Panthers’ grand final victory against the Seymour Blasters on Saturday night, Kego joined two players each from the Blasters and Panthers in the final Al-Star line-up.
Alongside Kego was Wallan brothers Max and Leo Viitala as well as Seymour’s Robbie Sartori and Jack Murphy.
Although the Breakers finished sixth with a record of 3-9, Kego ranked second in the league (behind Max Viitala) for points (209) scored this season.
He will now line up for the North East Bushrangers in the Big V division two competition.
