Martiniello has joined several teammates in recommitting to the club, with Brody Webster, Marcus O’Brien, Chris Welsh, David Mennen and Nick Warnock all announced as key re-signings within the past month.
Incoming Benalla coach Jake Pallpratt said the signatures of a raft of experienced long-term players was vitally important for the club moving forward.
“It’s massive for us,” Pallpratt said.
“They are our more experienced high-quality players.
“They’ll be massive in terms of teaching and showing the younger players the ropes.”
While Martiniello, as well as Mennen, experienced injury concerns throughout this year, Pallpratt was confident both players would be ready to go come pre-season training.
“David and Will are looking good,” Pallpratt said.
“The players have had a fair break to get the body right.
“They should be back on the training track ready to go.”
With summer training just more than five weeks away, Pallpratt said the shape of Benalla’s list was slowly coming together.
“We’ve been pretty keen to retain all our players,” Pallpratt said.
“Growth comes from retaining what you’ve got.
“Plus, we’re still looking to bring in four or five guys externally.
“We want to continue to build.
“It’s looking really positive at the moment.”
