A group of Benalla children have recently returned from spending a week at the Portsea Camp.
The Rotary Club of Benalla has been arranging for local children to attend the camp since 1954 — some might remember its previous name, The Lord Mayor's Children's Camp.

“‘It was really fun" was the common response from the children on their return home.
The Portsea Camp is designed to give children a well organised and safe holiday at the beach in a happy environment.

A spokesperson for Rotary Club of Benalla said the club was extremely grateful to the strong ongoing sponsorship from local businesses, individuals, organisations and Benalla Rural City Council that allowed the children to experience the camp.
“Without this fantastic support it would not be possible to provide this holiday for these lucky children,” the spokesperson said.
