David Warner (rested), Mitchell Marsh (ankle), Mitchell Starc (knee), and Marcus Stoinis (side) have all been included in the 16-man squad after missing the recent 2-1 T20 series loss in India.
Green has not been selected for the upcoming T20 World Cup, and under normal circumstances would have been squeezed out for the series against the West Indies.
But his hot form in India means he was simply undroppable, with the 23-year-old posting scores of 52, five, and 61 as an opener.
Green's 19-ball half-century in the third match was simply breathtaking.
It continued on from his hot form in the recent ODI clashes with New Zealand.
Kane Richardson and Ashton Agar were notable absentees in the squad in order to manage their workloads ahead of next month's World Cup.
Agar only recently returned from a side strain, while Richardson injured his hamstring in June but featured in The Hundred competition in England in August.Â
Australia take on the West Indies on October 5 (Metricon Stadium) and October 7 (the Gabba), before facing off against England in a three-match T20 series.
A World Cup practice match against India is scheduled for the Gabba on October 17.
"We have and are taking a cautious approach with the World Cup on the near horizon," Australia's selection chief George Bailey said in regards to Agar and Richardson.
"To have four key players return gives us the ability to take a conservative path with any minor issues and resolve those well in time for the World Cup.
"As such we anticipate Kane and Ashton will return for the following series against England."
