Yarrawonga Mulwala A Grade have scored an impressive 308 runs in round 12 action of the WDCA season.
Playing against Benalla at the Garden Oval in Benalla, the Lakers batted first and despite losing wickets early; the platform was set by Captain Redi Clarke and Josh Lawrence.
Both played measured shots and both passed fifty each just before tea.
At tea, the Lakers were 2 for 128 off 39 overs.
A combined partnership of 135 set a great launching pad for the lower order. Clarke was dismissed with the score on 163.
Zach Moore joined Lawrence for a 41-run partnership before Moore was dismissed for 17 and two runs later Lawrence was caught out for a team high 98 runs.
With 22 overs to bat, all batsman made a contribution with Corey McIntosh scoring a classy 45 and Brock McCabe 26 not out; the score then at end of play saw the Lakers score at 9 for 308.
The Lakers were able to add 61 runs in the final 10 overs and have set a great total at which to bowl at next week in day 2 of action, with one round remaining before finals.
