Great effort today from a young side where the majority of the team still play U17s, up against a very experienced side. You all tried hard all day and did not give up. You all should be very proud of yourselves.
Changes at half time gave a tired third quarter. Attacks were getting out easier for centre pass and Ella was feeding the ball in precisely to the shooters.
Brooke K providing strong leads in the attack end and pulling contact. Sophie held strong in GS and shot beautifully.
Brooke McD ran tirelessly all day in hot conditions and Alainah applied endless pressure down the court.
Tiarnah and Hannah held a strong defence with many turn overs and rebounds.
Awards - Sophie O’Dwyer Yarrawonga Hotel, Hannah Shoppee Publicans Daughter, Brooke Knight- One Zach.
B Grade
Rennie 36 defeated by Strathmerton 56
The B Grade girls worked hard today, they never gave up. The game was close until half time where Strathmerton took control of the game.
Scarlett did a great job as goal shooter and worked well with Jess who never gave up. Jess was strong at the centre pass as well as her shooting. Danielle came on at half time they both combined well and created a lot of the play. The goalers had a great game and worked the ball well around the ring.
Sophia tried all game and had a short rest in the third quarter which gave her the chance to have a break and play a solid last quarter. Scarlett also helped out in the centre position and she was great at reading the play and putting some great passes into the goal circle.
Maddy was a stand out for the game. Her leading down into the attack was brilliant. She put some great long passes into the attack end which opened up the space. Both Maddy and Celine worked hard in defence and had tough opponents who never missed.
Ebony and Sophia combined well in attack and keep working hard on their centre passes. Georgia was consistent in defence and keep being an option down the court.
Strathmerton stepped up in the second and third quarters but the Rennie girls never gave up and were competitive for the whole four quarters.
The Rennie girls should be proud of their efforts today. Overall a great team effort from everyone. Thank you to Caitlyn Knuckey for being on the bench for B Grade.

What a sensational day for a game of netball. We had a good start we went out firing with Brie quickly snapping up balls at centre and provided good leads through the mid court helped our attack. Nada feeding well into the ring seen us lock in a good 5 goal lead at the end of the first quarter.
Our defence was strong in the ring, Anika and Knucky securing lots of rebounds and Steph always putting the pressure on.
We missed Laura this week, but Adele, Sophie and Leonie made it work securing some beautiful goals.
Jae providing good talk and leadership helped the girls stay focused throughout.
We had good movement over the court.
Unfortunately, the fourth saw Strathy get a jump on us to take the win by 3.
The girls fought hard till the end.
Awards – Yarra Hotel Anika Walsh, Priority Fitness Steph Munro, Belles Café Sophie James.

The sun was shining and there was no wind, a great combination for The Rennie girls to put the pressure on early.
The mid court worked well with the experience of Tanya and the tenacity of Jas helping to feed the ball well into the ring.
The combination of Hayley and Jess were on fire in the goals, with Hayley really holding strong. Half time saw a good lead and some small changes for Rennie, but
Strathy wasn’t out of the fight coming back hard and fast. Our defence worked well, and a consistent effort from all our mid court player particularly Ash, meant we were able to move the all well and fights off a comeback. A solid effort from everyone for a great win.

What another great win for the girls this weekend.
Coming into the game the girls were excited to get on the court and put into practice everything we had been working on at training.
The first half started off very slow for the girls. Everyone was lacking motivation and finding it hard to get into a rhythm and move the ball down the court effortlessly.
After a quick pep talk at half time, focusing on encouragement from each other, dedication to the ball and commitment to the team, the girls came out firing.
The girls defensive pressure forced turn over after turnover from Strathy, and our goalers were able to execute again and again. Many intercepts were taken across the court and some very fancy footwork was seen too, including the incredible ‘posty’ by Ella Rhodes.
It was great to see the girls lift from where they were as a team, and want to play the best netball they could for themselves and for each other.
Well done girls, great win!

U15s
Rennie 47 defeated Strathmerton 12
Against another side in the top 8, the girls produced another great team effort. Coach Karen has created a versatile team and each player can play in multiple positions.
The mid court players of Abbey, Violet, Laynee and Georgia bamboozled their counterparts with slick passes.
Mia E, Mia W and Lucy were awesome in the goals rarely missing and rebounding strongly.
Defenders Heleena and Ava intercepted most of the oppositions forward forays in a rock-solid display.
With a strong win consolidating a top 4 position.
Awards - Wingates Heleena Shaw, Rhodes Family Abbey Shoppee, Papalia’s Mia Wheaton.

This week our little hoppers were down two players going in with eight but still confident within the team that everyone would do their job and work hard for each other.
Tess was outstanding for the day taking multiple intercepts and eliminating her shooter from the game.
Leah was an excellent asset feeding the ball into our shooters who all three Sophie, Demi and Alani were once again outstanding in their accuracy.
Charlotte, Iris and Darla all played their part in the mid court to once again come out with an amazing Win. Well done girls.

U13s Development
Girls are enjoying their netball and always smiling which is so nice to see.
At training we concentrated on not crowding, clearing out and leading to the ball. Ensuring there is a player further down the court for the next pass. The girls did this a lot better on Saturday and we will continue to work on this.
This week we only had six players, two of the U13s helped us out and made a difference on the court.
Awards – Rhodes Family Kate Giblett, Robinson Family Charli Watson, Yarra Fish & Chips Nicki Dow- Bastin.
