MNL preview

Top quality Murray Netball League contests are again the flavour of the round, with a colossal fixture set to take place at Moama Recreation Reserve today.

After sharing points with Echuca United last week Moama will be breathing fire when Rumbalara comes to town for a top-of-the-table battle, but Jess Bamblett and her charges are ready to return serve.

‘‘They’ll want to bounce back after last week so I’m anticipating that they will bring their A-game,’’ Bamblett said.

‘‘It’s going to be a tough match but I’m confident in our side so hopefully we can get a win.’’

Rumba comfortably accounted for Numurkah last week 84-29 despite star Klarindah Hudson missing most of the match through injury.

But Hudson should be back on deck today, leaving centre Anita North as the only player out for the visitors.

‘‘Anita will probably miss three or four weeks with an ankle injury,’’ Bamblett said.

‘‘Klarindah will be back this week, she only played one quarter last week after straining her knee but is ready to play.’’

Elenoa Naimalua has been a standout for Rumba across its past few matches and will be crucial again today when facing the Magpies.

‘‘We’ve got to play our game and stick to what we know best and hopefully come out on top,’’ Bamblett said.

‘‘I think we’re ready to take on the challenge.’’

●Mulwala and Deniliquin will go toe-to-toe today in a blockbuster match, while Congupna will attempt to knock over Cobram at Memorial Park.

Echuca United travels to Tungamah to take on the Bears, while Barooga and Katandra face off with plenty on the line.

Tongala and Finley round out today’s fixtures, with Numurkah hosting Nathalia tomorrow on ‘Super Sunday’.
