Sunday’s match will be significant for one Shepparton player and her family, with Kate Durling reaching a memorable milestone.
Durling will take to the court in her 400th Goulburn Valley League netball match.
Beginning her career in 2000, Durling played 369 games with United before shifting to the Bears last year.
Brereton praised the career of Durling, who has been a stalwart of the Deakin Reserve co-tenants.
‘‘Although Kate played majority of her career at United, she is such a high quality player and person to have at the club,’’ Brereton said.
‘‘Kate can play a magnitude of positions across the court and has a wealth of experience and hunger that makes her that extra bit special.’’
Shepparton will celebrate another milestone achievement, with Jacqui Byrnes set to play her 250th game for the club.
Byrnes is a three-time B-grade premiership player, a Sandra Cox medallist and a club best-and-fairest winner.
