After making 244 on day one, the Blues needed 47 overs to skittle the Magpies for 119 in their first innings, before doing it all again in just 22.4 overs to seal the outright win.
Spin proved Euroa’s downfall in the first innings — Tom Panuccio (44) and Ben Harrison (43) provided the only resistance — with Shaun Downie (4-24) and Gledhill (3-24) combining for seven scalps, before the pace of Arnel delivered all 10 in the second.
Euroa’s struggle highlighted to Gledhill how strong his own batsmen had been the week prior.
‘‘I think it showed how well we batted last weekend, especially Tim (Arnel), Shaun (Downie) and Timmy Braybon, to get 240,’’ he said.
‘‘On a track with a bit more grass cover, I think it was easier to bat yesterday, so it was really pleasing we were able to get a good total.
‘‘When we bowled them out we did enforce the follow on, there was nothing to lose and in 34 overs there was everything to gain. We gave it a red-hot crack and bowled them out in 22 overs.
‘‘I don’t think Euroa is really that bad, they got a bit too defensive (on Sunday), but they are definitely A-grade quality.’’
The win took the Blues to second on the table, level on points with league leader and reigning champion Katandra.
With two quality players still to be added to the line-up, Gledhill and his Blues were excited to attack their last three games before finals.
‘‘There’s lots of confidence and a good vibe around the club, it’s a good place to be,’’ he said.
‘‘Matt Cline and Josh Smith should be back for our next game, so we’ll have a full side. It’s all going in the right direction but there’s room to improve with the bat, and we’ll put the work in that area.’’
