Massimiliano Allegri intends to take a year off from football.
The 51-year-old Italian left Juventus at the end of the season after guiding the Bianconeri to five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia trophies and twice into the Champions League final.
"I will take a year out because I have to reclaim my private life. These last 16 years have felt like being in a centrifuge," he told Italian daily sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Allegri had been linked with a potential move to Chelsea - should his compatriot Maurizio Sarri leave Stamford Bridge this summer - but he plans to reconnect with his family before returning to management.
"I have let family matters get away from me ... my children and my friends," said Allegri.
"This year will let me recharge with a view to coming back for the following campaign."
