The Lions got off to a strong start in their season opener.
Grace Barry was on fire from the early stages of the match, providing amazing drive in attack and feeding her goalers with precision.
Jordyn Beattie was in dominant form, creating numerous crucial turnovers on both ends of the court for her side.
Olivia Pearce was ever accurate, shooting strongly all day and combining beautifully with Mia Allen and Ashlyn Webster in the goal ring.

Mansfield started well with the opening three goals of the match, but the Lions fought back through some great defensive work from Bride Cartwell and Bella Pearce.
The Lions managed to go into quarter with the lead.
In the second quarter, Seymour exerted their authority through great mid-court work from Olivia Barry and Sophie Rutherford.
With strong scoring, the half-time lead was 20 goals.
After an even third quarter, Seymour ran away with the victory by 27 goals, with strong attacking play by Ruby Martin and Abbey Cook.

B-Reserve — Seymour 39 def Mansfield 11
The match started with a dominant display by the Lions, scoring 15 unanswered goals.
The defenders were like a brick wall, intercepting passes into Mansfield’s attacking area and forcing scores of these turnovers.
A much improved Eagles side outscored the Lions in the second quarter, though Seymour looked to have settled back into a rhythm by the end of the period as the two sides traded goals.
The Lions were on in the third quarter, outscoring Mansfield 10-3 and as both sides began trying different combinations on their attacking end, the Lions capitalised to finish the game with a strong win.

B-grade — Seymour 39 def Mansfield 32
A tight opening quarter saw both sides shooting accurately, with 25 goals scored to open the match.
The Lions stepped up their defensive pressure through the middle of the court in the second quarter, allowing their goalers more opportunity with the ball.
The Lions headed into the half-time break with an eight-goal lead.
Mansfield led the scoring in the third quarter, converting on a number of turnover opportunities.
Unfortunately for the Eagles, the deficit was still six goals.
The defensive pressure across the court by the Lions increased in the final quarter, with the goalers again shooting well to bring the seven-goal victory, just reward for a strong team performance.

The perfect day for Seymour was completed as the Lions A-grade side gained an opening victory.
A tight opening quarter featured strong defensive play by the entire side.
New Lion Jessica Lallo was dominant around the ring, leading the shooting tally with seven goals.
Seymour’s defence worked well with new recruit Nakita Singe working hard through the midcourt.
Ball movement was swift throughout the match, making hard work for Mansfield’s players.
A low-scoring third quarter saw neither side gain ascendancy in the early stages.
As the quarter wore on, the Lions were able to score off a number of turnovers to extend their lead.
The final quarter went goal for goal, allowing the Lions to remain on top and claim victory.
