Kilmore gets Celtic

By Seymour Telegraph

Kilmore will celebrate its Celtic history when the Kilmore Celtic Festival returns later this month.

On the first night of the three-day event guests will be meeting with festival friends at Kilmore Trackside from 6pm to start the weekend with great food and entertainment.

On Saturday, enjoy the celebrated Poet’s Gathering, which has relocated to the historic Kilmore Courthouse, 4 Powlett St.

From 10am the festival fires up in the Memorial Hall, in the heart of Kilmore. This will continue with a wonderful array of artists throughout the day and into the evening, when things really liven up.

Listen to the pipes and take a leisurely stroll to the centre of town, checking out the heritage buildings along the way.

The festival concludes on Sunday with the fabulous Celtic Banquet, featuring an enjoyable afternoon of feasting and entertainment with a delicious roast meal accompanied by a variety of Celtic treats.

Performers for the event include The Australian Welsh Male Choir, Bric a Brac – Ced le Meledo, Claymore, Eddie Lewis, Elizabeth Hopkin, Folk Train, Frank Mulholland, Knot O’ the Gate, The O’Shea-Ryan Irish Dancers, Roolya Boolya and the Rummagers.

It’s on from June 28 to 30 and bookings are essential.
