The hair of several Lifestyle Shepparton residents has raised more than $20000 during the past four years for Goulburn Valley Health.
The crew added more than $7000 to the total recently after their ‘shave day’ in November last year which saw several beards taken off and bald heads emerge.
Organiser Gavan Pritchett said they had held the event since 2014 and it was just one of the many cancer fundraisers that Lifestyle Shepparton residents took part in.
To prepare for the event Mr Pritchett and his supporters go months without shaving their beards or cutting their hair.
The funds were presented to GV Health prostate cancer nurse Sonia Strachan who said the money would all go towards supporting local men with prostate cancer.
She thanked them for their support and said it was fantastic that such a small fundraiser could produce such a huge amount of money.
The funds raised by the men was also matched by the Lifestyle Communities Foundation which accumulates funds each year.
Shepparton’s Tis Hair helped out, with staff volunteering their time to do the shaving.
The funds were presented to GV Health yesterday.
