UPDATE: The rider has been located safe and well.
The 44-year-old man appeared near the bank of Lake Nillahcootie and approached a fisherman about 10.30am today.
He did not require hospital treatment.
Mansfield police are searching for a missing man who became separated from a group of motorcycle riders in the Strathbogie Ranges yesterday.
The 44-year-old was last seen shortly after 2pm.
According to the police, the remaining group of riders went back to base camp at 5pm but the Fawkner man had failed to return.
Uniform police, with assistance from the Search and Rescue Squad, Air Wing, Mounted Branch and Mansfield State Emergency Service, will be in the area as part of the search effort this morning.
The man, who was riding a black Honda 250 trail bike, was wearing black clothing and a black helmet with a white stripe down the middle.
