Charity bike festival to raise funds for KIDS Foundation

By Tara Whitsed

A contingency of motorbikes will be led by Captain America as they make their way from Shepparton to Yarrawonga for the annual Road Warriors Charity Bike Festival later this month.

Motorcycle riders from the district are invited to join the ride raising funds for KIDS Foundation which supports children and adults living with serious injuries and burns.

Event co-organiser Graham Hook said the ride would leave from Harvey Norman in Shepparton on the Goulburn Valley Hwy and would be led by several superheroes.

‘‘We came across (the superheroes) at a charity event in Melbourne,’’ he said.

He said participants could get the chance to ride alongside Captain America, Supergirl, Ironman, Wonderwoman and Spiderman to the Family Fun Day Out at the Yarrawonga Showgrounds.

The event will feature children’s activities, more superhero action, motorbike rides, trade stalls and live music.

Mr Hook said the motorbikes ridden to the grounds could be entered in the Show and Shine for $7 with a $200 prize up for grabs.

The action will heat up on Saturday, November 24, at Shepparton’s Harvey Norman store from 8am with motorbikes departing at 9am. The family fun day begins at 10am and runs until 10pm at Yarrawonga Showgrounds.
