A shoplifting charge against the wife of Olympic swimmer Geoff Huegill has been dismissed on mental health grounds.
Sara Huegill was arrested by mounted police in Byron Bay in May after allegedly making off from a store with a pair of leather Bassike pants worth almost $2000.
But the matter was dismissed on Friday at Byron Bay Local Court on mental health grounds.
In an Instagram post in June, Geoff Huegill said "good people make bad choices".
"Naturally there are two sides to every story, and there will be a time, when we as a family will share our side," the social media post stated.
Sara Huegill and her husband - a two-time Olympic medallist - were given a six-month good behaviour bond for cocaine possession at Sydney's Randwick races in 2014.
The Huegills are now based on the Gold Coast after selling their designer inner Sydney terrace in 2015.
