Determined to support the Shepparton community, Lisa Ladas is hosting her annual succulent sale this Saturday.
Held for a third year, Lisa’s Succulent Sale raises much-needed funds for local charity Give Me 5 For Kids.
The charity raises funds for the children’s ward at Goulburn Valley Health.
Ms Ladas said she and her husband Leo supported the cause when they ran a cafe on Benalla Rd, Shepparton.
‘‘We used to help in different ways, making sandwiches and things,’’ she said.
After selling the business, Ms Ladas still wanted to help the charity and decided the best way would be through the use of her green thumb.
Ms Ladas works hard throughout the year to establish a variety of succulents in a number of different styles and pots. On the day, there will be about 300 plants for sale, creatively arranged in pots and baking trays along with some other plant varieties and a number of baked goods.
‘‘I love kids and I feel so sorry when they are sick,’’ she said.
‘‘We’ve got kids and grandkids so I just want to help however I can.’’
Ms Ladas said prices ranged from $5 to $30.
She encouraged everyone to come along, snap up a beautiful succulent and help raise money for a worthy cause.
‘‘Every little bit helps, even when you think it is not very much money, but it is all for a good cause,’’ Ms Ladas said.
‘‘Please come and support us, we need to help the hospital.’’
Lisa’s Succulent Sale is on Saturday from 9am to 4pm at 34 Canterbury Ave, Shepparton.
