Life Church to host annual Together Conference

By Laura Briggs

Life Church in Mooroopna is hosting its sixth annual Together Conference this weekend.

Following on from last year’s ‘awakening’ theme, this year’s conference, themed ‘arise’, will see people visit from across the state.

Life Church creative worship pastors Ryan and Michelle Black said this year’s theme was based on a Bible scripture ‘‘arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.’’ (Isaiah 60:1).

‘‘It is a call to people to recognise who they have been called to be,’’ Mrs Black said.

She said while the theme changed each year, the reason behind the event remained.

‘‘The aim is to gather people together, join people together, to connect, to learn more, to empower, to see people stirred in their faith.’’

Mr Black said the conference was an opportunity for those unsure of their faith to find clarity.

‘‘It’s something Christians can attend to get equipped, inspired and stirred in their faith, but it is also perfect for people with doubts or those seeking something more.’’

With live music, live art, dancing and teaching lined up for the two-day event, Mr Black said the conference was an annual highlight with lots to look forward to.

‘‘It is a place of passionate and expressive worship, with powerful and inspiring teaching.’’

For Mr Black, the conference was also a time of getting together with like-minded people from different regions throughout the state.

‘‘I love catching up with people from across the state and region, it’s like a family reunion,’’ he said.

Having sold tickets in the lead up to the event, the pair expected about 300 people attend the conference.

Mrs Black said the conference was not only for church-goers, but was open to all.

‘‘Anyone is welcome to attend, especially those who are seeking purpose or wondering if there is more to life.’’

Together Conference 2019 is on at Life Church Mooroopna, on Friday from 7.30pm. A Together youth event for those aged 12 to 18 is on friday from 6.30pm at Encounter Church, Shepparton. The conference continues on Saturday. For information or to buy a ticket, visit
