Children have put their creativity inside a waffle cone by making tasty treats these school holidays.
The Chocolate Apple Factory in Shepparton East invited children to join in one of more than 15 sessions offered during the past week.
Business owner Vera Fleming said the sessions allowed children to fill ice cream cones, chocolate pizza faces and marshmallows on a stick coated in edible treats.
‘‘The kids seem to enjoy it and it’s a fun activity where they can take some products home,’’ Ms Fleming said.
She said they had run the school holiday activities for a number of years and had a great turnout this time around.
Ms Fleming said the Chocolate Apple Factory, home of the famous chocolate apples, began 13 years ago as a way of adding value to her family farm.
She said the 22ha orchard produced beautiful fruit, but in developing her idea of coating it in chocolate and sweets, created a business she had not seen anywhere else.
In getting started, Ms Fleming studied confectionary and chocolate making in Melbourne and built the beginning of the business in her refurbished packing shed.
Ms Fleming said during the years the Chocolate Apple Factory had grown significantly and produced a wide variety of tasty treats using the different fruits grown right there on the property.
