Be #ShepPROUD: Mayor loves her community

By Shepparton News

City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Kim O’Keeffe:

1: What do you love about Greater Shepparton?

I love the incredible lifestyle we have. Open spaces, beautiful surrounds and the convenience of being minutes from everything.

I love the opportunities we have as a region to grow and the many exciting things ahead of us.

Most of all, I love the people that make us who we are.

We are a diverse and inclusive community.

2. What are your favourite things to do?

I love being out and about in the community. I get to meet so many people from all walks of life.

I love learning about the different cultures and people’s backgrounds.

Every day I learn from others, their needs and aspirations for our region.

3. Why is Greater Shepparton a great place for younger people to grow?

Young people are tomorrow’s leaders, our future. I love engaging with our youth and listening to their insight to our region.

For our youth, we offer wonderful educational and career opportunities whatever their circumstances or stage in life.

We have an enormous amount of support agencies available. We offer culture, sport, leisure, arts and music.

I see first hand the offer of support and commitment to our youth from many organisations.

On our council website, we also have a list of youth services.

The Community Fund Goulburn Valley is calling on young people aged 15 to 25 who live, work or study in Greater Shepparton to enter this year’s #ShepPROUD competition.
