THE Winter Food Drive initiative has once again helped disadvantaged people in Kyabram get through the chilly months.
Sheridan Partners, Waterpool Co-Op and Dawes and Vary Riordan ran the drive to help Kyabram Community and Learning Centre (KCLC) support families who are doing it tough.
This winter the drive was broadened to give locals the chance to donate warm clothes too.
KCLC family services coordinator Vicki Huggard said the drive helped 30 local families, and every coat donated has been utilised by a family in need.
“We really do appreciate the work they do year-round to help,” Vicki said.
“KCLC volunteers and all in the community who have participated in food drives and clothes drives should all be recognised and thanked for their contributions.”
Vicki said all the families benefiting from the drive were thankful for the support.
‘‘We have had families say, ‘I didn’t know you could help in this way, we are struggling and it is a great help’.’’
