Informing growers

By Country News

Fruit Growers Victoria’s inaugural conference is coming to Shepparton on August 16 and 17, with the event designed to bring the industry together to share information.

Chairman Gary Godwill said for the industry to grow and be successful, co-operation and cohesion should be fostered.

‘‘This will be a great opportunity for growers, suppliers and researchers to get together to improve industry competitiveness, through better yields, quality and pest and disease management,’’ Mr Godwill said.

The format of the event will be targeted at bringing the best people and information to growers with the first day focused on updating growers on leading research and technology from experts.

‘‘The field day on the second day will allow growers to see first hand the latest innovations from some of our leading growers and processors during three site visits,’’ Mr Godwill said.

‘‘This is an important event for our industry and I encourage everyone to attend. I’m sure it will be the first of many.’’
