THREE Heathcote golf ladies — Amanda Long, Carol Stuart and Dot Trott — travelled to Kyneton in the heat on Thursday and managed to come third overall in the competition.

On Saturday, November 3 a small but dedicated team of ladies played the first round of the Summer Championships, on the recently cored greens.
Jan Case won a closely contested match with 34 points off a handicap of 45. Dawn Hudson won nearest the pin on the 8th hole.
The men played a Golfer of the Year Stableford event on Saturday. Shane Morris proved too good for the opposition, winning with 37 points off a handicap of 14 on a countback from Paul Fitton who carded 37 points off a handicap of six and Chris Lingard who scored 37 points off a handicap of three.
Birdies were scored on the 13th by Steve Hudson and on the 18th by Ian Furneaux. Nearest the pins were: Steve Hudson (13th); Garry Boyes (16th) and on the 18th, Tom Russell (A grade) and Ian Furneaux (C grade).
Balls were awarded to Steve Hudson and Tom Russell.
John Mugavin played Alan Stobaus in the final of the Men’s Singles Knockout with John winning one up.
