Local groups meet to help Heathcote grow

By Vanessa Wiltshire

TWENTY people from at least 10 community groups and service organisations gathered for lunch as part of the Heathcote Community Capacity Builders (HCCB) network last Wednesday.

HCCB is a monthly initiative to share news and information, which can then be distributed via networks in the community.

Facilitated by Heathcote Community House Coordinator Vicki Forde and her team, participants once again enjoyed a delicious cooked lunch, bursting with local and on-site grown goodness.

Attendees came from the Heathcote and District Pony Club, U3A, Heathcote Carers Group, St Vincent de Paul, Heathcote, Mandalay Resources, McIvor Times, St Mary’s, the Royal Flying Doctors Service and La Trobe University.

Three occupational therapy students from LaTrobe University spoke about an investigative project to review oral health in Central Victorian towns, particularly Heathcote.

Heathcote Community Capacity Builders meet monthly. New attendees are welcome. You do not have to belong to a community group to join. Business owners and leaders are equally welcome.
