It is part of the Starlight Tour de Kids challenge held during in September.
‘‘It is all about raising money for sick children to help them during their stay in hospital, and to provide activities,’’ Mrs Moodie said.
‘‘My husband Luke has been getting on the bike too and my three children have been supporting me.
‘‘We are fortunate to have three healthy kids, but lots of people don’t, so if we can help families and sick kids that will be fantastic.’’
The 35 year-old school learning support officer has already completed more than 100km of her journey, and so far raised $213 of her $1000 fundraising goal.
‘‘The majority of it will be on the bike trainer but I will also get out on the mountain bike on the trails in the forest on the weekends,’’ she said.
‘‘If you break it down, it is a bit over 16km a day so that has been my aim, but at the moment I am doing about 30km a day.
‘‘I figured if I do a little bit extra I have a few extra days up my sleeve, depending on how I am feeling.’’
Mrs Moodie said the challenge will also help her keep fit.
‘‘My plan at the start of the year was to do the Gold Coast half marathon, but it got cancelled (due to Coronavirus restrictions),’’ she said.
‘‘I still ended up doing it virtually but all events and everything else have been cancelled.
‘‘Someone saw the Starlight fundraiser and thought it was something I could do and to raise some money at the same time, so I decided to give it a go.
‘‘I encourage anyone who can donate to do so and assist me in helping sick children.’’
