September 13, 1972: First life member of the RSL club

He was elected to life membership at the club’s annual meeting earlier this year.

Mr McKay was presented with a badge and framed certificate of life membership in a special ceremony at the club recently.

Current president Bill Ford made the presentation.

He said Mr McKay had given invaluable service to both the club and the sub-branch during his many years’ association with both bodies.

Mr McKay responded, thanking members for their support during his term of office as president.

Mr McKay has served 17 consecutive terms as president of the Shepparton RSL sub-branch and has been a life member of the sub-branch for many years.
