Tocumwal Public School Year 3 student, Mia Owen, has followed up on her win in the Finley Zone Cross Country carnival to qualify for the NSW PSSA State Cross Country championships.
Along with 14 other TPS students, Mia qualified for the Riverina Cross Country carnival which was held in Gundagai recently.
There she competed against the best distance runners from across the vast Riverina region.
Mia came in fifth and with the top six runners qualifying for the State carnival will now compete at the Sydney Motorsport Park in Eastern Creek, Sydney on July 26.
TPS Principal Mr Darren White, said it is always an outstanding achievement to qualify for a State carnival.
‘‘The whole of the Tocumwal community wish Mia the very best and hope she enjoys the experience,’’ he said.
