Kellie White leads the race for the A grade title in the Finley Ladies Championships after a strong performance in round one on Wednesday last week.
White managed an impressive 88 off the stick to lead Joanne Dean on 94 and Enid Bain on 95.
Standings in the other grades are as follows:
B grade: Gay Henderson 92; Deborah Pyke 95; Sharon Pyle 96; Kath Klemke 96; Sue Simpson 97.
C grade: Janet Delmenico 91; Anne Harding 98; Marian Ayres 100; Kerrie Carlon 101.
D grade: Kim McCaw 118; Linda Rendell 123.
The daily Kalangadoo Nursery stroke event that was held in conjunction with the opening round of the championships was won by Janet Delmenico with 64 net.
Gay Henderson was runner-up with 71 net while Kellie White claimed the scratch ball with 88 off the stick. Putting was won by Sharon Pyle with 28 putts.
Ball winners were Anne Harding (72), Deborah Pyke (73), Kerrie Carlon (73), Kath Klemke (74).
Round two of the championships will be held today, with the third and final round held on Wednesday, April 17.
Tocumwal
Michelle Purtill claimed the ladies stroke Monthly Medal on Tuesday last week.
Purtill clean-sweeped Division Two with her 89 off the stick and 68 net enough to claim the Medal, grade and gross winsm ahead of runner-up Margaret Fergus with 69 net.
Division One grade went to Jill Collins with 73 and runner-up went to Shellei Clark 74. and gross went to Nola Dalton with 86 off the stick.
Division Three gross and grade winner was Beverley Campbell with 106/72.
Runner-up was Nat Beard with 78.
NTPs went to Lindy Cooper 14th, Di Mitchell 18th, Jo Boak Pro Pin.
Shellei Clark was the winner of the putting competition with 27 putts.
Wednesday saw 107 men playing Par with Division One going to John Fanning (Hill Top GC) with 3-up followed by Michael Cooper 2-up.
Doug Perrett was the Division Two winner with 6-up, finishing ahead of Michael Taylor on 4-up.
Douglas Beckwith won Division Three 4-up with Warren Constable runner-up on 1-up.
Danny Anderson was the Division Four winner with 3-up followed by Spencer Rutherford with 2-up.
NTPs went to Bryan Eddy 2nd, David Webb 14th, Fred Rossborough Pro Pin $105.
Men’s Gold winner went to Allan Penny 8-up followed by Ronald Eaton with 3-up.
A novelty day was held on Saturday with the game being Split 6.
Ladies A grade won by Sandra Williams with 44 points, Margaret Fergus was runner up with 42.
B grade went to Ann Clement with 43 points, Michelle Glanville was runner-up 41.
Men’s A grade winner Kevin Waller with scored 41 points, ahead of Peter Bolt on 40,
B grade went to Norm Brosnan after a countback from Ian Cameron, with both golfers scoring 44 points.
Jack Landt top scored for the day with a whopping 54 points to win C grade. Jeff Innes was his closest rival on 42 points.
Ladies NTP were Marg Fergus 2nd, Julie Penny 17th and Mens NTP were claimed by Ian Cameron 2nd, Anthony Clement 17th.
Sunday saw 13 ladies playing stroke with Division One going to Jo Boake with 71 net, followed by Leanne Marshall 75.

The day also saw 67 men play stroke for the Monthly Medal, with Brent Huckel’s 69 net seeing him claim the Medal and Division One grade win.
Division One gross win went to Michael Cooper with 73 off the stick.
Bennie Benbow was the gross and grade winner in Division Two with 88/70.
Division Three gross was Alan Michalowsky 99, with Leonard Redfern the grade winner on 76. NTPs went to Christopher Garnaught 8th, Stephen Naughton 14th.
Men’s Gold winners were Ronald Eaton 74, Graeme Sharp 75 and Laurence Rickard 80.
Berrigan
Berrigan Gold Club hosted the men’s open tournament on Sunday.
Golfers traveled from Hay, Albury, Jerilderie, Finley and Howlong to compete on the course which was in great condition.
A grade scratch winner was Trevor Britton with a score of 80, runner-up was Berrigan’s Rick Bradbury with a score of 81.
Handicap winner was Dean Mitchell with a score of 73 and runner-up was Jerry Cox 75.
B grade scratch winner was Gerry Moss with 82, runner-up was Fraser Haintz with a score of 85. Handicap winner was Carl Pounds with 71 and runner-up was Doug Cameron with a score of 72.
C grade scratch winner was Jimmy Walliss on 91, followed by Matthew Whelan on 92.
Handicap winner was Peter Beaver with a score of 69 and runner-up was John Strelec with 70.
Nearest the pin for A grade was Darren John, B grade Doug Cameron and C grade John Strelec.
Finley
Matt Daniel highlighted the Wednesday men’s stableford competition with an Eagle 3 on the 456 metre, Par 5, 12th Hole.
However it was Matt’s brother Rob with 42 points who collected the Signal Energy voucher for the day’s competition.
NTP on the 18th was Colin McNamara. Ball competition winners were Bob Makkinga (38), Matt Daniel (37), Barry Fahey (35) and Rob Klemke (34).
The Matt Daniel Plumbing NAGA trophy went to Leo McNamara.
Seth Howell with 30 net stepped up for the last of the summer season Thursday nine hole competitions.
Ball competition winners were Andrew Higgins (31) and Marty Piggin (32.5).
On Saturday the Con Carr Betta Home Living stableford medley event was played.
Marty Piggin carded 36 points to claim the trophy.
Both NTP’s went begging while ball competition winners were Bill O’Connell (35), Janet Delmenico (33) and Dale Pyke (32).
Sunday was the Tuppal Dairy Stroke event and it was Paul Pinnuck with 69 net who picked up the men’s trophy while Enid Bain with 72 net claimed the ladies trophy.
Paul Pinnuck was also NTP on the 18th and the ladies putting competition went to Enid Bain with 27 putts.
Ball competition winners were Wayne Peasley (73) and Linda Rendell (80). Rick Harris was awarded the day’s NAGA trophy.
At the weekend round one of the 2019 Men’s Championships will be played on Saturday with round two on Sunday.
