Berrigan Race Club president Geoff Swann said he’s excited for this Saturday’s race meeting.

‘‘We’ve had a great booking this year for the marquees both in the private and reserved.

‘‘The reserved marquee has been well received from people.

‘‘We’re expecting a great crowd this year and the weather looks like it will be terrific.

‘‘It’s too early to tell with the fields but I think they’ll be up to the usual standard.

‘‘People should come along to have a really enjoyable, social day at a country race meeting.

‘‘We have great facilities, great services and a provide a really friendly atmosphere. A lot of local people who you might have gone to school with return to the area just for the event so it’s a chance to catch up with old friends.

‘‘I hope all patrons can have a happy and safe day,’’ Swann said.

The Gold Cup shares the day with Melbourne’s Victorian Derby, one of the most prestigious race days in the country.
